L-3 Microdyne Values
Our clients and prospects evaluate L-3 Microdyne based in part on what they perceive to be our values and culture. I think it is important that each of us operate according to the following principles.

John Oakes, President

Wow the customer!
At the end of the day, our only assets are our clients and our reputation. We must act with our clients’ best interest in mind, every time. We need to exceed each and every expectation that our clients may have, explicit and implied. This is a continuing process, which means we must also anticipate their future requirements. It also means never over-committing and always going the unexpected extra mile for the client.

Be professional
We need to operate at the highest level of professionalism at whatever cost, at all times. It is not enough to provide courteous behavior or to act with integrity, although we must do so as a matter of course. We must remember that each of us is accountable for MOI’s business results. Every day.

Think fast, move fast
Clients want to benefit from our ideas as soon as possible, and so do we. Moving fast enables us to learn and make better decisions over time. We need to think of innovative ways to compress time and then act quickly. Speed and flexibility are our secret weapons.

Continually improve our business
Outsourcing is about leveraging people, technology and process. Generally, we leverage people pretty well, but leveraging technology and process are the keys to our future. Each of us needs to look at

Don’t be afraid to argue
Conflict is good for the organization as long as it is resolved quickly. Unresolved conflict kills. We need to agree on what the question is and debate that, not other issues. Disagree, then commit. Not everyone gets an equal voice in decision-making, but all should have a chance to be heard. Fully supporting decisions that have been properly made is a condition of employment at MOI.

Make our people matter
Great people flourish in an environment that liberates and amplifies their energy. Talent rules. Let’s create and sustain that type of environment at MOI. In this regard, it is still important to have fun every day. High achievers always have fun while doing their job.

Teams work
We succeed when our project teams succeed. Teams succeed when they create better solutions and make better decisions. So, each of us needs to know how to work on a team as well as how to lead a team.

Offer integrity without compromise
We say what needs to be said, not simply what people want to hear. We do what should be done and are forthright in our dealings with all stakeholders in the firm.

Care and give back
With success comes the responsibility to give back to the communities in which we operate. We seek to contribute in ways that reflect broadly held values, draw on our unique strengths as a firm and wherever possible, reinforce our business objectives.
